'Developmental difficulties can display themselves physically, emotionally, academically or behaviourally. The causes can be manifold. Each element will impact on the other. Only with a thorough assessment can we begin to separate the causes from their subsequent effects. It can be hard to know which professional can provide the answers. Because I can use a range of assessments and therapeutic tools, I can help families prioritise where to start.
However, it is important that a medical assessment is also carried out by a GP, or Paediatrician, to rule out other medical issues. Nutritional needs may also need to be assessed.' says Denise.
Peace of Mind
As a State Registered Occupational Therapist, Denise adheres to the Health Professions Council (HPC) 'Code of Conduct'. The HPC monitors all Occupational Therapists. A HPC registered OT is deemed to have met all of the HPC standards. This ensures that families know they have found an appropriately trained professional.
