Are you worried that your child is delayed in their development or seems to be responding differently to the world, but no-one will listen? Does your child have autism, sensory processing problems, co-ordination problems or difficulty coping with their emotions? Do you feel that their current level local services are not helping, or are perhaps, even, making things worse? Are you frustrated because you don't know how to help your child? Do you want help to understand what causes your child's emotional or sensory meltdowns? Do you feel like there has to be a different and more integrated approach which gets better life-long results?
'Developmental difficulties can display themselves physically, emotionally, academically or behaviourally. The causes can be manifold. Each element will impact on the other. Only with a thorough assessment can we begin to separate the causes from their subsequent effects. It can be hard to know which professional can provide the answers. Because I can use a range of assessments and therapeutic tools, I can help families prioritise where to start.
However, it is important that a medical assessment is also carried out by a GP, or Paediatrician, to rule out other medical issues. Nutritional needs may also need to be assessed.' says Denise.
